AdmittedCharge:
Careless RidingEvidence:
Following the running of Race 8 (Design Builders 1400), Information A14148 was filed with the Judicial Committee. It was alleged by the Informant that Mr Bradley allowed his mount to shift in when not clear of HARD TIMES (D Hirini) which was checked and hampered LEVON (C Dell) near the 1200m.
Mr Bradley said that he understood the Rule, Charge and confirmed that he admitted the breach.
Mr Goodwin showed the film replays of the incident and said that Mr Bradley and his mount shifted in when only one length clear and checked HARD TIMES and then continued in and hampered LEVON. He said that both horses lost approximately 1.5 lengths.
Mr Bradley said that he gradually shifted in and that he looked several times and thought that he was clear. He added that he just rolled in and thought that Chris Dell would have taken a hold.
Decision:
As the charge was admitted it was deemed proved.
Submission For Penalty:
Mr Goodwin said that Mr Bradley had two suspensions this year, those being on 16 January 2021 (6 riding Days) and 9 January 2021 (5 riding Days). He placed the carelessness below mid-range.
Mr Bradley had no comment to make.
Reasons For Penalty:
The Committee viewed the carelessness as being in the low-range category. The JCA Penalty Guide for low-range carelessness is a suspension of 4 riding days and a fine of $250. Taking all matters into consideration it was determined by the Committee that the Penalty Guide starting point was the appropriate sanction to impose.
Penalty:
Mr Bradley’s Jockey Licence was suspended from the close of racing on 5 June through to and including racing on 13 June 2021 (4 riding days) and fined $250.
