CHARGE(S):
JAZMIN ALICIA driven by Mr B. Mangos and placed third by the Judge, broke free of interference 10m from the finishing line and was not in its correct gait when its nose reached the finishing line and was lapped on by EXTASIA driven by Mr G. Wolfenden.
FACTS:
Mr Taumanu showed the video film of the concluding stages of the race. JAZMIN ALICIA broke about 10m from the finishing line and was still in a break at the finishing line and was lapped on by EXTASIA.
Mr Mangos and Mr Hackett acknowledged the protest was properly made out.
DECISION:
The rule is mandatory. JAZMIN ALICIA is relegated to immediately behind EXTASIA, the amended placings being:
1st – DEIDRE’S FLASH
2nd – MYA GRACE
3rd – EXTASIA
4th – JAZMIN ALICIA
5th – DARV HABBEN
6th – MISS POPPET
The Committee directs the dividends be paid in accordance with the amended placings.
